Aussie 100 Way Frequently Asked Questions

Work in progress - to be updated.

Tax Deductable Donations:

The registration fees and camp costs that you pay are not tax deductible, e.g. you, your family or your company cannot make donations as detailed in the Letter of Support, where the money is donated to the Australian Sports Foundation (ASF) and then given to the APF Aussie 100 Way Team, and expect them to be tax deductible as you are benefiting from the donation.   All money raised as donations / sponsorship (for the purposes of tax deductibility) that goes through the ASF will be divided equally amongst all 100 Way participants going to Perris Valley to offset their participation costs.

Registration Refunds:

Rules for Australian Record:

What are the Rules for an Aussie Record?

Section16 of the APF 2008 Sporting code  deals with this:

National Records - General Conditions

16.1.1 This section lays down the conditions under which National Parachuting Records may be attempted and claimed.

16.1.2 The APF Secretariat shall note all successful record attempts in the APF Book of Records. The APF Book of Records shall be updated and made available to all members at least annually.

16.1.3 The organiser shall arrange to have three APF Judges monitor the event, two of which shall hold APF Judges ratings in the discipline of the record attempt. The third judge need only have a valid APF Judges rating. At least one Judge (Principle Judge) must be physically present at the record attempt site. At least two Judges must hold a rating in the discipline of the record attempt. If the other Judges are not present at the record attempt site, they must be able to receive and view the images required to assess the record attempts electronically, and communicate their findings back to the Principle Judge within 30 minutes of the Principle Judge communicating it to them.

WE have three APF Certified judges in this discipline attending the event - Fiona McEachern, Shirley Cowcher and Peta Holmes – so we definitely have this covered

16.1.4 Contravention of any APF regulations shall render the record attempt void.

16.1.5 A group of a larger number of parachutists achieving an equal or better record than a smaller group shall be recognised as the holder of the record previously held by a smaller group.

16.1.7 An Australian Record may be set providing at least 75% of the participants hold Australian Citizenship or Residency.

So this means at least 75% of us must have Aussie Citizenship (ie an Australian Passprot) or be an Australian Resident, over 95% of those who have registered an interest and over 92% of those who have registered so far fit in either of these two categories.

16.1.8 An Australian Record may be set at any location in the World.

So things are cool with Perris !!

16.4.3 Largest Formation records

(1) The record performance for the largest formation is the number of persons in one formation. One written plan describing the formation to be attempted and the personnel involved must be submitted in advance to the Judges. The formation must be completed as described with all named personnel in the formation

(2) The exit procedure for the largest formation is the same as for the longest sequence except that more than one aircraft may be used.

(3) If two or more teams achieve an identical record performance on the same calendar day and thereby break an existing record, the new record shall be registered in the name of all the individuals or teams involved.

 Also from the APF sporting code 2008

The application for Performance records should be accompanied by the following information:

(a)All applications should be accompanied by the following information:

  • The name, sex, citizenship (or residency) and sporting licence number of each parachutist;

  • The type of the ascent vehicle;

  • Exit height used;

  • Where the performance took place;

  • Chief Judges’ certification that the performance record was conducted and achieved in accordance with the APF Sporting Code;

APF Membership Requirements:

Do I need to be a member of the APF to be on the Record Attempt ?

No you don’t – you simply need to have FAI membership this can be gained by either being an APF Member or any other FAI affiliated skydiving organization.   We will all have to either have a temporary or full USPA Membership to jump at Perris – insurance purposes the same as we require foreign people to join the APF for set periods to just in Australia.  So again we are covered off here.
